Welcome to Move Makers

Thanks for taking part in the Move Makers pilot. You’re among the first schools helping to shape the new school travel challenge from Living Streets. Move Makers inspires pupils to travel actively and sustainably by combining simple daily logging with friendly competition and fun rewards.  

This page gives you everything you need to launch and run the challenge in your school, along with downloadable resources. 

It's easy to take part in Move Makers. Just follow our five simple steps below.

Step 1

Access the Move Makers platform using your log-in details. Use the admin guide to set up your classes read to start logging.  

Step 2

The first five days of logging take place in practice mode. This helps classes learn the system and sets a baseline before the challenge begins.

Pupils should record their normal mode of travel in practice mode, without being encouraged to walk/wheel, cycle or scoot. Once each class completes five days of logging, the challenge begins! 

Step 3

Now it’s time to begin the Move Makers challenge! Give each class taking part a classroom guide, a classroom poster and points explainer poster. 

Use the launch presentation in class or assembly to introduce Move Makers to pupils and build excitement.  

Share the parent/carer letter with your school community, downloadable from your Move Makers dashboard.  

Step 4

At the end of each month, use the scores automatically calculated by Move Makers to award: 

  • The mini Strider mascot to the winning class (based on points per pupil) for the next month.  

  • Gold, silver and bronze stickers to the top three scoring pupils in each class. 

  • The special green Change Maker award for the pupil who had the most improved score in each class.  

Step 5

The challenge begins again for the next month!
