London Living Streets Group is dedicated to making London one of the world’s best cities for walking.

For more information and to read the blog, up to date news and many other features and resources you can visit their website.

All the evidence points to walking as one of the best ways to get around the capital. Whether you want to see the sights of one of the world’s great cities, improve your fitness or simply save money on traveling, walking is the perfect way to get around.

The are Local Groups for many of the London boroughs which we recommend you join as well as the London Group.

London Living Streets Group campaigns for:

  • Better conditions for people who are walking with safer streets
  • that the city’s public spaces are far more attractive for those on foot.

The campaign to pedestrianise Oxford Street should be just the start of making Central London a far more appealing place for residents, workers and visitors to spend time as well as marking the start of a transformation of London’s high streets and town centres as places that are far more pleasant for people to spend their time and money!

Footways Maps

The Central London Footways map highlights how quick and easy it can be for residents and visitors to choose walking and wheeling to get from A to B.

Launched by Transport for London (TfL) and London Living Streets, and developed by Urban Good, it contains a network of routes connecting popular destinations via the capital’s most appealing and accessible streets.
