THE UK CHARITY FOR EVERYDAY WALKING
CBBC presenter and emergency doctor, Dr Ronx, will promote WOW and the health benefits of walking to school for the 2022-23 academic year.
Dr Ronx said:
“I’m thrilled to be the new ambassador for WOW – the walk to school challenge from Living Streets. With notable increases in air pollution, rising childhood inactivity and post-lockdown poor mental health, encouraging children to be more active and ditching school run drives for more sustainable modes of transport is imperative."
We won!
On 12 July, the Senedd voted to make Wales the first nation to introduce default 20mph limits on all its residential streets.
A big thanks to everyone who supported our campaign - this win is yours!
Poorly-placed bins and bike racks. Excessive street signs. Bollards. Overgrown hedges.

our week of action is now over - but you can still support our campaign
Want to be part of the pupil-led scheme that is helping thousands of schools tackle road safety issues, pollution, congestion and childhood inactivity?
WOW, our flagship walk to school challenge, is available with brand new resources for primary schools for the 2021/22 year with theme 'WALK FOR THE WORLD'.
We are passionate about making big changes in our communities, and being a powerful voice for pedestrians.
But we simply can’t say that if we are only hearing a limited range of voices.

A generation ago, 70% of us walked to school – now it’s less than half.
We want to reverse this decline. We want children to be energised and empowered, and to make walking to school their natural choice.
And we know just how to do it.
