By being a walk leader you can help your colleagues and community become healthier and happier. Organised led or group walks are a widespread and well-established tool for promoting and sustaining walking.

Become a walk leader

We know regular walking reduces the risk of preventable illness and social isolation. As a Living Streets walk leader you can make a real, lasting difference to people, improving health, local environment and your wider community.

There are many reasons why people don’t walk. One is the physical environment, which often isn’t as safe and attractive as it needs to be. But other reasons are more to do with habits, attitudes and lack of knowledge. Many people don’t know about or think of good places to walk close to them. Leading walks is a great way to share your own enthusiasm and local knowledge about walking and inspiring others to get out and about.

We train people in communities across the UK to become walk leaders.

As a bit of small print, we can’t endorse the use of these if you haven’t completed our training course. Contact us now to register your interest in becoming a Living Streets Walk Leader and hear about training sessions taking place near you.
