Tip 5 – get snappy

As well as being an easy way to stay active, walking can help us feel connected to our community and those around us.

Try capturing your local park, sunset or town centre on your camera or smart phone, and share it with friends or family – or on Instagram. You might just snap some long-lasting memories.

Capture your walking experience

Croydon Living Streets Group invited a group of teenage girls and non-binary young people to join them at a local arts centre for Our Voice, Our Streets, a poetry and photography workshop led by photographer Sylvie Belbouab and theatremaker Sharon Kanolik.

Sylvie Belbouab is a social documentary photographer who often works with migrants or people who do not speak English as a first language and finds that taking photos allows people to express their thoughts and feelings more easily.
