CAVERSHAM LOCAL GROUP

We are Caversham Living Streets. A group of local people looking at improving walking routes in Caversham.
We are currently engaged in a campaign to have a pedestrian crossing installed at the Last Crumb junction (RG4 8JN - Westfield Rd/ Prospect St/Henley Rd/Peppard Rd). Having established that particularly vulnerable pedestrians use this junction on a daily basis with absolutely no crossing facilities, we felt that action needed to be taken.
ABOUT US
So far we have:
- Established the junction is used by children from at least seven different schools/nurseries trying to get to and from school.
- A successful petition underway that clearly demonstrates community support
- Focussed on raising the profile of the issue, including being featured in multiple local news reports
- Spoken with That's TV and with BBC Berkshire Radio
- Met with Matt Rodda MP who supports our cause
- Met with Cllr Matt Yeo and Cllr Jacopo Lanzoni to discuss the junction
