Wales is the first country in the UK to introduce an Active Travel Act (oh, how we would love one of those to make it through Westminster) which aims to increase walking and cycling rates.
This landmark piece of legislation was passed in 2014 - but there is still a lot of work to be done to ensure positive results.
“Walking is a free, easy and accessible way to introduce activity into our daily lives. It is vital that we get Wales walking.
“It was encouraging to see so many of our supporters at the Senedd to see our manifesto launched and to hear from representatives from each of the political parties. We hope they remain engaged with our campaign to get Wales walking.”
Physical inactivity is costing the Welsh NHS an estimated £650 million per year. Unless something is done we will have a national health crisis on our hands.
