NICE (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) has today (28 February 2019) published a new quality standard on air quality and health, a move which Living Streets supports wholeheartedly.

Dirty air is currently contributing to 36,000 premature deaths a year in the UK and is having a particularly negative impact on children.

It is essential that strategic planning policies reduce our reliance on polluting vehicles by making it easier for people to walk more.

We look forward to working with NICE to promote this further. You can find out more about the new quality standard on the NICE website.
