Living Streets supports the Improving Air Quality in Towns and Cities report by Greener Journeys.

The report proposes that any vehicle scrappage scheme introduced by government should prioritise the replacement of diesel buses.

As this report notes, modal switch from private vehicles to walking for everyday journeys is essential to cleaning up the air in our towns and cities. The proposed bus scrappage scheme represents an efficient and cost effective way of creating a better environment for walking to take place.
