It is never too early to establish healthy habits.
Our new resource, Little Feet, is a great way to encourage families with young children to commit to healthy travel throughout childhood - and hopefully for life!
Little Feet is tailored to support families’ understanding of the benefits of active, everyday journeys through fun and engaging games both parents/carers and teachers can run. Topics it covers include:
- Understanding the effects of exercise on the body
- Understanding what being healthy means
- How to stay safe on the roads
- Ways to look after the environment
It encourages families with children aged two to five years old to review and adapt their routines to allow for more active travel (cycling, walking, and scooting) on the way to or from pre-school/school.

Supports the EYFS framework and Ofsted descriptors
The successful delivery of Little Feet relies on a shared responsibility between early years setting and parent/carers. Children will learn about the benefits of being healthy more easily if they hear the same messages from their teacher and at home, so to get the most out of Little Feet it is essential to get parents/carers on board.
