Living Streets wants to create a walking nation, where everybody has the chance to gain from the health and social benefits this simple act can bring. Walking is also a vital ingredient of successful communities. Walkable towns and cities are often more vibrant socially and economically. Living Streets manages innovative national projects, working with schools, communities and workplaces to encourage more people to walk short journeys. WOW, our year-round walk to school challenge, is perhaps the most notable, capturing the imagination of children in over 3,000 schools. We work with local authorities to help them improve streets and neighbourhoods. And with our supporters we campaign for positive change and public policies that enliven our streets.
Join us and together we will create a walking nation.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and personable Schools Coordinator to join our Local Impact team for a fixed term period until 31 March 2020. Previous experience in working with schools to promote active travel and supporting stakeholders remotely is essential.
You will also be responsible for recruiting target project audiences, assisting schools in finding alternative funding, organising the distribution of resources and promoting our national walking campaigns at key points in the year.
This is an interesting and varied role, and an ability to embrace a variety of tasks whilst working remotely is essential.
The role may be based at one of our Living Streets offices (London or Newcastle), however applications for being homebased in England will be considered. Please note that regular travel to Living Streets offices will be required.
