Silver Corporate SupportersLiving Streets' Silver Corporate Supporters support our work directly, through donations and involvement with specific projects and teams.Currently, Living Streets has two silver corporate supporters:
APCOA ParkingAPCOA is the UK's leading full service parking company providing on- and off-street parking management and enforcement across the UK. Their work has a direct effect on our streets - their Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs) are eyes and ears on the street. They are a crucial method of enforcement, keeping our streets safe and accessible for pedestrians. APCOA has been a corporate supporter since 2007. As well as being a member of the corporate supporter scheme during this time, we have undertaken joint publicity work together that has featured in key trade press. For example, in 2007 Living Streets' Chief Executive took up APCOAs challenge to become a 'CEO for a day' and find out what it's really like to be a Civil Enforcement Officer (or 'parking attendant' as they were previously known). The resulting article was used as a feature in Local Government Chronicle, as well as being highlighted in all our publications, which reach thousands of professionals and politicians. Andrew Marshall, On-street Director at APCOA, said: "Parking enforcement is all about keeping traffic flowing, encouraging cars to park in designated areas and ultimately to keep streets safer for pedestrians; we are pleased to be associated with Living Streets and support their aims and objectives. We have many common interests as the majority of our staff spend their working day on our streets. Their activities contribute to the quality of the environment and our staff are valuable 'eyes and ears' in the community. The local environment is, of course, a key issue for our local authority clients and by working together with our clients and Living Streets we will be able to add value to our services through participating in joint initiatives and putting the primary role of parking enforcement in a broader context." The relationship continues to grow and APCOA is supporting Living Streets' charitable work, during the coming year. For example, they made a donation to Living Streets for every delegate business card given at their stand, when they exhibited at the 2008 Parkex event. They have also nominated Living Streets as their chosen charity for a forthcoming corporate event. For more information about APCOA, click here to visit their website.
