Havant is a town in Hampshire, near the south coast. It has good rail connections to other parts of the UK but suffers from high levels of traffic and problems for pedestrians and cyclists.

Latest News from Havant

David Early will be visiting Havant on 10 September 2004. David will be looking at local issues with local Contact Colin Beckwith. David will also aim to meet with local authority officers.

Here is a brief account of what Colin is doing in the town:

Hayling Billy Trail - I have campaigned to make changes to the car park at Havant Social Services. Inappropriate parking was making it difficult for users of the trail. The council erected bollards to deter parking across the pathway.

I am also starting a campaign with the final objective of a pedestrian crossing on Petersfield Road at the Civic Centre roundabout. This is an extremely hazardous but well used pedestrian route.

I am also continously monitoring the Havant borough dealing with issues as they arise.
