Leicester is a city in the middle of England. Uniquely, it boasts high quality soccer, cricket and rugby union teams within the city boundaries. Leicester is home to a diverse cultural mix and has some excellent examples of planning that puts people on foot first.

Latest News from Leicester

One of the main issues in Leicester at the moment is opposition to the closure of post offices in the Clarendon Park area. Local members have been actively involved in campaigning to protect post offices within walkable distance of local communities.

The Council have recently extended the pedestrianisation of the city centre but this has resulted in difficulties with access to buses and more room for cycling in the pedestrian areas. This raises the whole issue of the design and balance between segregation and mixed use which our group is anxious to discuss with the Council.
