Southwark Living Streets
We are the Southwark group of Living Streets, a national charity which stands up for pedestrians and works to create safe, attractive and enjoyable streets, where people want to walk.
Working alongside Southwark Cyclists, we actively campaign for:
- Civilised town centres - we want to make our town centres much more attractive places for visiting, shopping, meeting, and passing the time.
- A 20mph speed limit - we want to reduce road casualties by working towards a speed limit of 20mph on all roads in Southwark.
- More walking and cycling - we want a townscape that encourages more people to walk and cycle throughout their lives.
- Re-allocation of road space - we want to encourage a re-evaluation of the amount road of space given over to motor vehicles.
The Southwark living Streets group meets on a monthly basis - for further information please contact the group secretary Jeremy Leach: jeremy@southwarklivingstreets.org.uk.
