BackAGM ahead of year of walking

The Living Streets AGM was held in July in historic Toynbee Hall, which provided an opportunity for members of the organisation to hear from and question Trustees and staff on our achievements over the last year and our current plans.  As always, we had a lively discussion which was chaired by the Living Streets President, Terence Bendixson.

Our guest speaker was Lilli Matson from Transport for London, who gave a great presentation on plans to create a “Year of Walking” in London in 2011, and answered questions from our members on what this would mean, and how walking and public realm improvements could be prioritised with ever tighter budgets.

Living Streets recently met with Lilli and her team to put forward our proposals on what London needs to make it a world class walking city - you can read more about this on our forum
